Augmented Reality • AR
Augmented reality (AR) is a technology that superimposes digital information in the real world. Unlike virtual reality (VR), which creates a completely artificial environment, AR enhances the existing environment with computer-generated information. For example, a user wearing an AR headset might see digital instructions superimposed on their field of view, or a gamer might see virtual characters and objects in their real-world surroundings. While early AR applications were limited to specific gaming and industrial applications, recent advances in AR technology have made it possible to use AR for a wide range of tasks, from shopping and navigation to education and training. As this technology continues to develop, it is likely that AR will become increasingly commonplace in our everyday lives.
