Sam Altman is an American entrepreneur, investor, programmer, and blogger who was born in Chicago, IL on April 22, 1985. He is currently the CEO of OpenAI, a research organization that aims to create artificial intelligence that can benefit humanity without causing harm or being influenced by external factors. He was previously the president of Y Combinator, a startup accelerator that has funded and mentored hundreds of successful companies such as Airbnb, Dropbox, Stripe, and Reddit. He is also the co-founder of Loopt, a location-based social networking app that was acquired by Green Dot Corporation in 2012, and Worldcoin, a project that uses eye-scanning technology to distribute cryptocurrency to everyone on Earth. He has been an angel investor in numerous high-profile companies, including Pinterest, ZenPayroll, and Asana.
